Friday
The Office: A ticking clock with a palpitation
The day started on a Friday, where I came to know that there will be two staff short in our office. It was a challenge in my way of going home, but that wasn't going to stop me from going home after a long weekend. I planned the day accordingly. But in banking it is hard to plan something, when several emergency cases comes. You have to do decision making continuously which makes you mentally drained. So, the first few hours has a lot of disruptions because my system was not working which slowed me down. I also had some low priority urgent task. And I had a high priority urgent task. I dealt with the disruptive customers tactfully and sent them away with a smile on their face. I also cut short my lunch time by a few minutes and sped up my work. I also fulfilled my targets of that day so that it wont interfere with my going home plan. I had only one clear objective that day: Nothing should come in my way of closing office early that day. I finished all the day's work with some help & then I left for station to catch my train. The 'train', which will take me towards a wonderful weekend.
An uncomfortable & pocket friendly train journey
I was waiting at the station with my mom waiting for the train. The train was running 40minutes late and that was an unusual event. The train came & since I was going to take that train journey after 1month it felt so much uncomfortable. That journey after office requires a lot of mental power. My objective was to save a few buck by booking non-ac tickets as it is not full-fleged summer. It takes a little getting used to, to travel in the D series coaches. The tickets are very economical Rs.85 + Tax, say around Rs.100. We reached Howrah at 9.15pm. And there were no trains available at that moment. A Kharagpur Local however was waiting at Platform No. 21 in the New Complex, but it was not a viable option with me and my mom. So, we waited for a few minutes when a Panskura Local came to our rescue at Platform No.13 which was our sweet spot. We kept walking and reached the 1st compartment of that train and took a seat. We reached home around 10.30pm. Ahh! Home sweet home. Our family members were waiting at home. We met after a long time. It felt nice. It was a cherishing moment. The following day was packed up. But I just wanted to rest, I was exhausted. So, I closed my eyes for a moment & it was...
Saturday
